Abstract

This study examined the relationship between digital literacy and English language learning motivation among Grade 11 and Grade 12 Senior High School students in a public school in Davao del Sur. Using a quantitative descriptive-correlational design, data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation. Findings showed that students had high levels of digital literacy and English language learning motivation. However, relatively lower motivation was observed in persistence when facing difficulties and active participation in English activities. A significant positive relationship was found between digital literacy and English language learning motivation, indicating that students with stronger digital literacy tended to be more motivated to learn English. Based on these findings, a Digital Language Enrichment Program was proposed to strengthen students’ interest, participation, persistence, and engagement through purposeful integration of digital resources and activities.
